As part of the connference "Quotidien sous contrôle" initiated by La Ligue des droits de l’Homme asbl, Manu Luksch participates in a debate about the sociopolitical impact of security technology, following the screening of CCTV fairy tale FACELESS.
BRUSSELS [BE]: presentation and screening of FACELESS
As part of the 10th JONCTION Festival, Manu Luksch gives a talk about the making of FACELESS followed by a screening. The festival focuses on etraces: "Tracks in electr(on)ic fields, gestures transformed into data, codes that set bodies in motion, prescriptions that ask to be interpreted. Pretended or real identities spread like viruses as they are carried across networks by (un)controlable, commercialised and personalised information services, inhabiting borders and embodying rumours."

The theme of this year's Ars Electronica Festival is 'Goodbye Privacy'. Manu Luksch, maker of CCTV sci-fi film FACELESS, participates in the symposium (6 September 14:00 - 17:00) the UNESCO lounge (8 September 15:30-17:30), Montagsgespräch (3 September 19:30) and the the exhibition 'Second City' (opening 5 September 19:00).

Shobana Jeyasingh presents a 20-minute work designed for the forecourt of the British Museum.
LONDON: Nagarantharan by Attakkalari in Trafalgar Square
Jayachandran Palazhy's contemporary dance company from Bangalore performs a piece about the modern Indian city. Commissioned for the Trafalgar Square festival, the 25-minute piece features a quadrophonic soundtrack by Mukul. Times: 1800 on Thursday 9th August, 2000 on Friday, and 1530 on Saturday and Sunday.
LONDON Saju Hari at the Royal Opera House
As part of the Royal Opera House's "Summer Collection - Programme B", emerging star choreographer Saju Hari presents a new trio with music by Mukul. In this work, Saju develops a vocabulary that draws on pedestrian movement, the nervous tics of insanity, contemporary form drawn from his work with Shobana Jeyasingh, and figures derived from Kalaripayattu (a Keralan martial art).
