Transmission Arts: Artists and Airwaves features 150 artists notable for their sonic, visual, and live works spanning early radio experiments of the 1880s up to the present. The volume is organized in sections dealing with performance, composition, installation, broadcast, public works, and interactive network projects. This unique publication places "transmission arts" in historical context, laying the groundwork for the definition of a new art genre.

The Sense & the City exhibition explores the powerful new forces that are shaping the way we live, work and travel in the city. GPS, pervasive wireless, sensing, near field communication, multi touch surfaces, open data, smart phones and a blizzard of new Apps are combining to redefine our urban relationships. Data visualisation is beginning to work with these digital riches to help us make deals, be sociable, navigate and network in powerful new ways.

Grand Union presents an exhibition of material produced throughout Air programme "Search Engines". Included artists: Manu Luksch & Mukul Patel, American Mountains, GOTO10.

Manu Luksch is presenting recent video works to illustrate the use of artistic intervention in public space as form of investigation, and collaborative practice with groups whose experience and expertise is under-recognised, in playful search for social change. Cities Methodologies is a pan-UCL initiative to show case innovative methods in urban research, drawing together work from undergraduate programmes, through to PhD studies, staff, and the wider research community. </br>

'Sniff, Scrape, Crawl…' is a series of lectures examining the porous borders of privacy in the digital age.  The next lecture and screening will explore optical forms of surveillance in all of its ominous complexities and perversities. The lecture by Steve Rushton will be followed by a screening of 'Faceless' by Manu Luksch and 'Suicide Box' by (BIT) the Bureau of Inverse Technology.

To mark the 10th jubilee of the European Urban Public Space Awards the Architekturzentrum Wien is engaging with that often addressed and sometimes overplayed subject of Public Space.

Numerous questions are posed, from: What is public space? How does it arise and does it even still exist? Who does it belong to, what does it represent and who decides, for better or for worse, over public space? Who needs it and who is allowed to use it?' Is the issue still between private and public, or more about exclusion and inclusion? And finally: 'To what extent do built structures and social conditions impact on the negotiable possibilities? All of these questions are posed in the exhibition to represent the breadth of the various levels of discussion.

In addition a number of exceptional international projects are contrasted with a presentation of existing situations in Vienna, current artistic, interventionist and architectural positions, theoretical analyses of urban development and representations showing the production and negotiable possibilities of and for public spaces, with strategies of resistance and appropriation.
